The important difference between a pessimist and a critic

Being a pessimist doesn’t require any intelligence, it just requires a bad attitude. Pessimistic comments aren’t constructive, they are only made to disregard an idea.

On the other hand, critics do really wish that the idea was good, but they are open and honest about why it’s not.

It’s easy to become emotional when comments are made by either party, but it’s important to recognise if you’re dealing with an unhelpful pessimist or a well-needed critic.
